Temple Chapel Session Speaker

President David Sorenson   President David E. Sorenson
David Eugene Sorenson (born 29 June 1933) was a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) who served in the First and Second Quorums of the Seventy and a member of the Presidency of the Seventy. Brother Sorensen was born in Aurora, Sevier County, Utah. As a young man he served as a Mormon missionary in the Central Atlantic States Mission. He was a business owner prior to his call as a general authority. Prior to becoming a general authority, he was a bishop and a stake president. He also served as president of the Canada Halifax Mission. Brother Sorensen was called as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy in June 1992. He was then called as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy in April 1995. He served as Executive Director of the church's Temple Department while he was a general authority. Brother Sorensen also served as president of the North America West and the Asia North Areas of the church at various times as well as serving as counselor in other area presidencies. From 1998 to 2005, Brother Sorensen was a member of the Presidency of the Seventy. After being made an emeritus general authority in 2005, Sorensen became the president of the San Diego California Temple. President Sorensen and his wife Verla Anderson have seven children.

Sterling Ellsworth   Sterling Ellsworth, PhD.
Dr. Ellsworth has been a practicing psychologist for more than forty years. He has degrees from Brigham Young University and Michigan State University. He maintains a full-time practice, and has written books including How I Got This Way and What To Do About It and Latter-day Plague: Breaking the Chains of Pornography that have helped thousands of people in their pursuit of a fulfilling life. Jennifer James
  Jennifer James, MSSW, LCSW.
MS Social Work, University of Utah. Clinical researcher, therapist, and lecturer. Her workshop will be on "Trusting Your Instincts In Dating Relationships: Avoid Victimization and Embrace Growth".

Jennifer is the author of Latter-Day Divorce And Beyond: Surviving Singlehood (2006). A veteran of over 11 LDS Singles Conferences from Alaska to Arizona, Jennifer comes as a single to talk about singles issues. A published author and marriage/family therapist, she's currently writing 3 other books on relationships and developing Divorce Recovery/Divorce Prevention seminars in Utah that will go nationwide to help heal divorced LDS. David Cohen   David Cohen, MD.  
Dr. David B. Cohen is the son of "Mormon Rabbi", Irving H. Cohen. He will be conducting two workshops, "Evidences from Judaism that Joseph Smith is a True Prophet of God" and "The Adamic Calendar and the Second Coming". Over the past several years Dr. Cohen has taken many parts of the "Torah" (the Jewish Bible) and translated it back into the original Hebrew. What began as a casual research endeavor turned into a major project which resulted in a 400 page manuscript -- insights and discoveries that Dr. Cohen will share in his workshops.

Dr. Cohen is a practicing physician and the founder of Zion Eye Institute in Saint George, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada. He received his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University, attended medical school at the University of Utah, and did his internship at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Fireside Speakers

Jerry Dunn   Jerry and Jeannie Dunn
Jerry and Jeannie Dunn recently returned from a mission to the South America South Area. There they served as welfare specialists in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. They have many wonderful experiences to share including a side trip to Antarctica. Jerry is a retired Spanish teacher whose passions include traveling the world and enjoying its beauty. He has taken his morning walk-about on every continent. Jeanie is a gifted speaker. She is presently Relief Society President. She has spoken at several youth and women's conferences in Southern California. Together they have taken hundreds of people on tours though out the world. They have six grown children and an increasing number of grandchildren.
